8005 Recovery of Salary Advanced to Employee

Any school employee, who leaves, resigns or is dismissed from the school system and has received unearned compensation in the form of salary or other funds, shall repay such funds in full to Board of Education within thirty days (30) of their last day of employment. This includes, but is not limited to, salary, bonuses, stipends, or any other compensation or funds received by an employee in error or as an unearned advance.

If an employee does not repay such funds in full within thirty days (30) of their last day of employment, the Board directs the Superintendent to recover them from said employee by any lawful means available, including the filing of a civil action in the general court of justice.

Additionally, the Board may recover from employees the cost of health insurance premiums in accordance with Section O of Policy 7520.
